Ron Moonesinghe is an experienced and UK-trained brass and woodwind instrument repairer and a professional member of the National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers (NAMIR). As a musician for over 50 years, he knows his way around musical instruments and has the same high standards of work and care as you would expect from the best.
Ron has been playing from the age of 8 and served in the British Army as a military musician on both trombone and cello, joining the Royal Artillery Band after two years training at Woolwich and a finishing year at the Royal Military School of Music (Kneller Hall). After leaving the Army, Ron embarked on a career in insurance while still playing the trombone for local brass bands and running his own professional Big Band in Hampshire. Ron has now returned to the UK after working in Abu Dhabi as an instrument repairer, school music administrator and establishing the Saadiyat Big Band as Musical Director.
